I'M JUST A NORMAL PERSON WHO WAS SHOPPING FOR HOTDOGS ON AMAZON AND SOMEHOW ENDED UP HERE. WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH ALL THESE INDUSTRY TERMS? WHAT IS "IP"?
Welcome to Toon Pocket! This site is designed for people in the industry who are looking to find their next big hit or to hire world-class writers for their existing IP - which stands for "Intellectual Property." For the purposes of this site, IP refers to original series concepts - plots, characters, worlds, stories, that sort of thing. Good luck with your hotdogs!
HOW BIG IS TOON POCKET'S SLATE?
We keep a rotating slate of 10 or so projects at any given time, each with a full graphic pitch bible including original full-color art from some of the industry's top designers. Contact us to learn more!
I HAVE AN UNFINISHED PROJECT THAT JUST NEEDS A LITTLE HELP. CAN TOON POCKET DO A PASS ON MY SCRIPT?
Yes! Toon Pocket's services are all modular, and you're encouraged to use us as little or as much as you need. We can write an entire script from story concept through final polish, or we can come in and just do a polish on one draft. We can write one script in a season, or all of them. We can punch-up or give notes on entire series, or just one scene. We can write an entire bible, or just a character description – it's up to you. Let us know what would be most helpful!
DOES MY SERIES NEED A STORY EDITOR?
If you're producing more than a few scripts, then we always recommend using a Story Editor.
WHAT IS A STORY EDITOR?
For projects involving multiple scripts and writers (like a full season of a series), a Story Editor, also known as a Head Writer, serves as the main point of contact between the client and the writing team. The Story Editor is responsible for running writers' rooms, relaying client notes and helping writers to address them, helping the client craft story arcs across a season and ensuring all of the touchstones for that arc are hit, and keeping everything on schedule. Most importantly, the Story Editor ensures that every script remains CONSISTENT to the show's world, themes and characterizations. This is to avoid things like characters acting differently from episode to episode, dialogue sounding as if it were written by different people, or plot lines being mysteriously dropped or forgotten about. For any project with more than a few scripts, we always highly recommend using a Story Editor.
DOES TOON POCKET WRITE LIVE-ACTION?
Yes! Though we obviously specialize in animation, Toon Pocket does currently have a few live-action projects in development including a family film, a YA sci-fi drama, and even a reality show. Contact us to learn more!
SHOULD I DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT WITH MY HAIR?
